Myth busted: electrolysis doesn’t work for everyone.
I’m here to hold the flag and proclaim that electrolysis
works for everyone. Why wouldn’t it? Well, there are some medical conditions
where precautions must be taken. Such precautionary steps are needed to protect
you and me from physical and legal harm.
Of course, if you have a medical condition then you must
check with your physician to make sure electrolysis is safe for you.
- If you have a pacemaker then you should check with your physician and the pacemaker manufacturer to determine a procedure that is safe for you.
- While there are no known problems having electrolysis during pregnancy, you should first discuss this with your physician.
- If you have diabetes, and your sense of pain is attenuated, then a necessary precaution will be to slow down and observe the skin carefully.
Before receiving treatment, you should obtain a statement
from your physician, for any medical condition; you must inform me of the medical condition and provide
the physician’s statement; and you must complete an informed consent form and a
release and waiver of liability form.
Minors presenting with superfluous hair can be treated by
electrolysis. A parent, or a responsible adult as allowed by law, must sign
a parental consent of treatment form and a release and waiver of
liability form.
If you have an infection or infestation, electrolysis
treatment may be resumed after successful medical treatment.
