Myth busted: hair can only be permanently destroyed during the growth phase.


An electrologist can only see the hair above the skin and not below. Hair will be removed at all three phases: anagen (growth), catagen (retraction), and telogen (dormancy). There are stem cells at the upper and lower part of the hair follicle that must be destroyed to assure permanent hair removal. If the needle is inserted deep enough and sufficient electrical action is applied, then all stem cells will be destroyed. Hair can be permanently removed at any stage by electrolysis.
